China (Suzhou) Machine Tool Supply Chain Exhibition kicks off

The three-day China (Suzhou) Machine Tool Supply Chain Exhibition opened at the Suzhou International Expo Center on Oct. 16. With an exhibition area of 40,000 square meters, it has attracted about 700 exhibitors from all over the world and welcomed about 50,000 visitors.

This year’s exhibition presented a wide array of new products and innovative technologies and solutions from local and international enterprises, including high-end CNC machine tools, robot automation, cutting tools, precision molds and advanced materials and equipment. At the same time, there were a rich variety of sideline activities, such as the Five-axis Machine Tool Application Competition and the CMCTEA Advanced Cutting Technology Summit Forum.

The equipment manufacturing industry is the second 1-trillion-yuan industrial cluster that Suzhou has fostered. The industry’s gross output increased to 1.42 trillion yuan last year and in the first half of this year, it saw a 3.5 percent year-on-year increase, which strongly supported the steady growth of the industrial economy. The city is home to 458 machine tool enterprises, forming a complete industrial chain covering components, complete machines and applications, which achieved an output value of 89.6 billion yuan last year,

The exhibition was jointly organized by China Metal Cutting Tool Engineering Association (CMCTEA), Jiangsu Die & Mould Industry Association, and Suzhou Foundry Association.
